REVIEW OF THE SHOOT.

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

For this presentation I'll be reviewing the shoot multiple shots and themes that we've used throughout, most of these shots come directly from the storyboard and draw reference to the coherent narrative present through. I feel as if it's a good addition to highlight everything that happened in the shoot and include a wider variety of shots to improve the variety of this shoot I also used multiple images and heavily drew reference from how vampires operate. In this blog I'll be reviewing the shots used to make this film effective. I've also used reference from similar movies to come I think that it's a good help to always have inspiration for example I also studied some older films which I feel are essential to set the tone for a vampire film.

PERSPECTIVE SHOT//TWO SHOT

This is a shot of the main lead walking it clearly displays how much distress she's in because of how much she's had to drink in a prior scene this is also perfect setup for how she murdered her first victim also in reference to how she exploited her victim all of this information is linked here from how and who she was which is essential background for who she is. I did research on how to implement her character and how to execute it however poorly this was done I tried my best to implement it true to story how violent and ruthless she was, also the confessions scene and how it was taped most of my footage took advantage of how there was free videos saved. I also used a scene from dracula at the start to show how these themes involve vampires however I feel as if this needs to be further expanded on.

This tells who Tracey was as a character and what happened this part is a direct reference to how she was dizzy after dancing at a club and became extremely dizzy and discombobulated resulting in death because she was fronting as a vampire.

I think this does this scene justice because of how she was acting and also how she killed her first victim and how she met up with him.

POLICE SHOT//CLOSE UP

This shot is necessary because it shows how dire this situation turned out to be, drawing point to how the police had to be involved after the crime plus how it happened. She got caught so another shot after this was how she managed to get arrested and that's how it ends on however I feel that this close up is a nice shot because it tells how she managed to get caught and what happened to her throughout. Mostly, police tape is yellow so it's not all too authentic but it still feels official because it shows the river and how it feels to be in a movie where there's a lot of casualties this also I feel adds to the tension and spikes the viewers curiosity in reference to how sudden the death felt, I spent a lot of time trying to blend both of these elements together also trying to handle how a horror/true crime documentary trailer would really appear I don't think that I did a good job however I really tried to redo a lot of my edits and make it seem authentic however my edits are a bit ameteur, making my rough edit appear as if it would be a mockbuster movie. Because of how choppy some of the scenes appear.

although, most of the cinematography stands strong not as advanced however they are effective such as these close up shots I feel as if they are a nice addition to this kind of film.

CLOSE UP SHOT

Close up shots are effective for a number of reasons, this example is an extreme close up shot meant to demonstrate emotion from the eyes. I love this shot because of what it implies also it was included directly from the storyboard, going directly of off these illustrations was a good idea because of how much emotion this managed to show. Also in junction to how most of these scenes played out is very clever because of the eyes and how much emotion they apply to this scene.

Extreme close ups usually are to demonstrate how a mental breakdown and to display a characters mental state I think they are

I feel as if eyes are supposed to demonstrate extreme emotion or how the character is going to snap usually this scene is included to excentuate the further actions such as how these characters are shocked or reacting to a revelation. Mostly, it's supposed to be a recreation or a homage to that aspect of film-making.

TWO SHOT

The two shot also replicates how confrontation is displayed throughout film. Shot from behind also displays little of the main lead and what she's about to do. It calls in reference to what happened prior describing her crimes this is important because it makes the audience hurl a little in anticipation of what she's about to do. This is essential to how these scenes accelerate and shows how the victim dies. Also how they cross paths and how he dies. This is also directly from what happened with Tracey Wiggins however this scene did not include Tracey's friends yet that's not all too important continuing on.

How this is shot is also like a stand off, and replicates the sense of utter doom that I was trying to visualise which is directly off of the storyboard this is also how an unsettling situation in most movies would pan out for more information on what this is based off of, I will provide a video of two shots how they are used and why they are effective. And why I decided to use
